IMAGINATION ENGINEERS BIG WINS

I love imagination in all it’s beautiful forms. In many ways, imagination in action has literally changed the way we experience the world around us. Think about all those amazing ideas that originated in the mind and eventually came to life in reality. You cannot do much of anything without coming into contact with some product of another’s creativity. Your house, your car, your computer, your cell phone…those are all the result of someone’s brilliant thinking.

When we started Comfort Research, we got creative to solve an age-old problem—inadequate, uncomfortable old beanbag with a penchant for bruised tailbones. We weren’t satisfied with the current market offerings, so we put our heads together and came up with something new and improved. It worked, and our little business started to take off. It also taught us that imagination could help you build something that really has meaning and lasts.

George Bernard Shaw said it best: “Imagination is the beginning of creation. You imagine what you desire, you will what you imagine, and at last, you create what you will.”

I think that is a great recipe for creativity:

1. Imagine

2. Desire

3. Will

4. Create

Creativity is an art form, and it can be challenging at times. That’s why your favorite band doesn’t come out with a new album every month, or a Hollywood producer isn’t releasing a new movie each week. They are creating, perfecting, reworking, and doing all they can to bring an internal thought or dream to the world.

It doesn’t matter what business you are in, or even if you are in business at all…imagination matters. It can help you build better friendships, a more loving marriage, a healthier relationship with your kids, and of course a better product or business. Try and take some time each day to be creative and imagine what could be.

In many ways, creativity is the spice of life. It adds some serious excitement to the mundane everyday activities. Who doesn’t like that?

That is the power of imagination. And if you aren’t getting creative in the way you do things, you are absolutely missing out on a great way to shake things up and maybe even disrupt your industry.
