As a founder of a business I am often asked what is the plan for selling the business so I can start living big, be rich, or whatever else that person thinks that means. The other question I get is why not raise private equity…which the world seems to be infatuated with companies that are raising money that aren’t even making any money. I don’t get it.
I don’t have plan. Why would I? I am pretty psyched doing what I do.
Every day I get to walk into a place that reflects a big chunk of who I am and what I am all about. I get to talk about ridiculous ideas, try new things, and push the team to push themselves without fear of failure.
But, they say, why not cash in and live the good life. Well, I am living the good life. I am getting to do what I want to do every day.
If you are doing what you want to do don’t be convinced that the grass is greener. Continue to do what you do, don’t have a plan, and don’t sell out!
